TheraFlu tastes terrible, but works extremely well....
What are others using for those flu like viruses? (fever, runny nose, chest congestion)
I also love the Vicks DayQuil and Nyquil LiquiCaps...
Anything liquid seems to kill my stomach.
If you drink wine, you get smarter....

Here I go again but none of the above. Have not used OTC medicines in years, years...

Let’s thank the CDC/flu-shot creators for missing the main bug this year. Over the last 2 months, I would say close to 90% of my office has been hit, which is an incredibly high percentage. It’s not the most devastating flu bug, but certainly one of the more pervasive ones.
Like many cold remedy medicines, basic Therflu is just a conglomerate of 4-5 common components:
pain killer/anti-fever - Acetaminophen (Tylenol)
antihistamine - a few varieties such as Chlorpheniramine maleate (Chlor-Trimeton)
antitussive (cough suppressant) - Dextromethorphan (Robitussin and many others)
decongestant - Phenylephrine (used to be pseudoephedrine hydrochloride) (Sudafed)
expectorant (breaks up phlegm) - Guaifenesin (Robitussin)
I prefer to take each of these individually to target only what’s really needed. I also suffer with allergies requiring me to take anti-histamines and decongestant regularly and consequently, a cold or flu requires a more targeted approach (i.e., larger doses of some of these items).
