| Since I live in NJ. I go to BYOWs in NJ, so I will list some of my favorites:
Aquila:
Presently, my favorite (in New Providence). The atmosphere is Great. Prices reasonable. Food is 1st class. Excellent. They do Not rush you, @ all. Service is Great. Menu is diversified.
LimeStone Cafe:
Very nice place (in Peapack). Very similar to Aquila. The atmosphere is Great. Prices reasonable. May be a little higher than Aquila. Food is Great. Service is Great. Menu is diversified. My recommendation here, are the "Crab Cakes". They specialize in these.
Jocelyn's:
Also ,a very nice place (in Maplewood). I forgot about this 1. As Revlis mentioned, it is Small, but a very nice place. Similar to Aquila & LimeStone. The atmosphere is Great. Prices are VERY reasonable. Food is Great (French). Service is Great. Menu is Fench-style. Small, so call ahead for Reservations.

| I'll second both of those with Aquila topping the list for me. Afrim, the owner, is really what puts Aquila over the top. He learned my name after talking with him for just five minutes.
Al, I also thought Jocelyn's in Maplewood was very nice. Smaller restaurant with limited seating, but again, a nice atmosphere with great food. | | | If you drink wine, you get smarter....

| I'll second Limestone, when I lived in Bedminster, I practically lived there! Great food and service, smalls so it gets a little loud when your room is filled. Highly recommend reservations, especially towards the weekend. Ditto on Aquila and Afrim (I know Afrim from the "Fresco's" in the Lyons Mall days, he's a great guy.

| RR-yes, Afrim and his brother Tony ran it. I hold them personally responsible for 10 lbs (I had worked in that mall at the time and ate there almost everyday!). Ahhh, the angel hair pasta with shrimp.....yummy! | | | |

| For those into Thai food, there is a great place downtown Lumberton. Only about 3 blocks from the Yacht House. Only has about 10 tables, but the food is out of sight. whenever we get to Califon, we head down that way. Don't hit me, can't remember the name of the place.
Geneva, NY Emils will allow special bottles. No corkage!! Food is fair to good, portions large, service good.

| Should we only include BYOs that are exculusively BYO, or can we include those that allow BYO w/corkage fees (maybe at least reasonable ones)? | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| New Main Taste and Taste of Asia in Chatham, NJ as well as Nusantara in Denville and Sirin Thai in Morristown for Asian
Sorry that Cinque Figlie re-opened with a liquor license.
We love Limestone Cafe, but have tired of it.
Mariques in Mendham and Lilac in Milburn are lovely. We also love Theresa's in Westfield. Basilico in Milburn is overrated.
La Campagna in Morristown has gotten old and tired, same old stuff.
Love those BYOBs..............

| I enjoyed Limestone, but found the service was average (not great). The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable, they just need some etiquette classes for their busboys / waiters. | | | |

| Although you can't ship wine to Tennessee, all restaurants in Memphis allow BYOB-some with no cork fees. | | | |

| I have been to Limestone twice. First time it was good, but not special. Second time, barely passable. I doubt I would dine there again. Aquila, Jocelyns, 410 Bank St (Cape May) and Acacia are far superior. But Green Gables is the best BYO I have to which I have eaten.

| It's been posted on other sites and threads, but, in Washington DC, there are about 100 places that permit BYO with a corkage fee. Fees range from $12 to $25. But at least it is permitted. In MD and VA, corkage is not permitted. Anyway, for a pretty comprehensive list of the places in DC that permit corkage, go to www.wideworldofwines.net/corkage.shtml | | | |

| Well I'm interested in BYOB on Kauai. I know that Roy's is pretty liberal about BYOB but their wines aren't overpriced anyway and the selection at local wine stores is pretty dismal. Also I usually have whites when I eat there and my selection at home is small. | | | |

| ttepper: I assume that the BYO policy only applies if you sit down and have dinner, right? They wouldn't let you sit and drink your own wine at the wine bar. | | | Beta testing a new signature. | |

| Houston has (had?) the restaurant at the Texas Culinary Academy (Courses) for a nice multi course byob over on Yorktown (by the Galleria) as well as La Vista right near there on Fountainview. Don't know of any in Austin thought I went to one at Little Texas Bistro in Buda that has since got their TABC permit. | | | |

| W4ever - don't know about your first mention but La Vista is still there. You can also take wine and beer into Collina's but it is very casual and the food mediocre. On the other hand, their pizza can be good. | | | |
