We are spending a long weeking in Ashland Oregon this month. Anyone have any suggestions on wineries worth visiting in the Rogue Valley (Ashland/Medford) area?

Brad, you might consider a dinner at the Jacksonville Inn in Jacksonville, OR. Excellent food and an extremely fairly priced wine list. In fact, you can look through their wine store with good prices, and get any bottle in the restaurant for $10 more.

We visited two wineries in the area. About 6 miles South (maybe Southwest) is the Valley View Winery. They produced a lot of decent wine, but nothing outstanding. It is worth a visit.

Further to the Southwest, near the caves, is the Foris Winery. To my knowledge, this is the best winery in SW Oregon. It's a bit out of the way, but worth a visit.

Brad,
You might also want to stop at Del Rio vineyard, which is about five or ten miles west of Medford on I-5. I don't think they make wine there, but they sell grapes to a number of winemakers, and I understand they taste some of them at the vineyard.

I haven't visited wineries down there yet, but have bought from a few. If I were wining down that way, I'd stop in at Abacela, makers of a fine Syrah, a lovely Malbec, and what Tempranillo lovers tell me is a pretty fair bottle of that. I'd also visit Girardet Cellars, who specialize in pretty much everything, which is interesting all by itself. Their Pinot Noir is elegant and they make a mean Baco Noir, which intrigues me from time to time.
