| Suggestion on 2 types of dining establishments would be appreciated:
a. A few of the "better" restaurants (top rated). b. A few "GREAT for the $$$-Good QPR" restaurants.
Thank You. | | |

| I rather enjoyed (for QPR) the buffet's in Vegas. Each of the major Casino's has one typically. The Rio has the World buffet and you would be hard pressed not to find anything to your liking. Another my wife and I enjoyed was the Buffet at the Mirage. The food at the Mirage was very fresh and it has considerable amounts of seafood. | | | |

| LCC, for Vegas high-end, I can recommend PInot Brasserie in the Venetian (french, pretty expensive, but excellent) and Aqua (seafood done beautifully)in the Bellagio. Both are pricey, both are extremely well done. One place to avoid, Lutece. Way too much $ for what you get.
For QPR, you have got to go to Wild Sage Cafe. It is off the strip, and it is priced right. Food is excellent and the wine list has some very, VERY good prices and value plays. Have a great trip.

| I really enjoyed the buffet at the Bellagio. It is very well done, but you have to go early, or the line will be very very long. The restaurant in the Mirage is not bad. The buffet at Caesar's is okay - nothing to write home about. The little Chinese soup noodle place in the Venetian is good, but 2X the price of Chinatown.
Did not try Aqua or Picasso? (Julian Serrano) since we didn't bring clothes for formal dining.

| Picasso, Valentino, and Craftsteak are the places to go imo. | | | |

| GATC: How much for the Buffet @ Bellagio?
Jones: Paris is Noted. BUT, they are going with 2 other couples that are NOT Winos (actually could care less about Wine) & do NOT really spend the $$$ on "Dining" that we would. They will hit 1 of those "top" places (i.e. Picasso). But, every night is stretching it. So, it has to be a mixture between "$$$" & "reasonable priced".
If people can post some prices per couple would help. But, may be, I am asking for too much...

| I have truly enjoyed Aureole (Mandalay) and Napa (Rio).
Circo in the Bellagio wasvery good and not quite as pricey.
I have also been to the Smith & Wollenski and was underwhelmed.

| One of my haunts is the Voodoo Cafe at the top of the Rio. The food is good (not great), the wine list is marginal, but the view and bar are stunning.
I think the best approach would be to eat somewhere else and visit Voodoo Cafe's outdoor deck for a few cocktails (and a cigar) after dinner while watching the city lights. Amazing.
The Rio also features a pretty good wine cellar (and tasting bar) that offers many different glasses and flights. Worth a visit.

| For something different, try the Stratosphere. Dinners run around 35ish and include the elevator ride to the top of the tower. The restaraunt and lounge rotate 360 degrees over the duration of your dinner. Obviously the views are spectacular and the winelist is very respectable. | | | |

| I think the dinner buffet at Bellagio is around $25/person. I looked at the menu at Picasso and if I remember correctly, the meals were around $90/person, but it seemed like they have a lot of expensive wines, so you could spend a lot. | | | |

| We would also recommend Wild Sage. Delicious and reasonably priced. Nice to get away from the strip. | | | |

| A quick update on this thread. Unfortunately, Wild Sage Cafe has closed. No more moderate wine prices with good food in Las Vegas. | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

| Very sorry to hear that, Joe. They were a nice change of pace to all the high-end restaurants on the Strip. Great place to give your wallet a rest.

| AUREOLE and CRAFT STEAK are both excellant restaurants. The waitstaff really gave us first class treatment. Especially at Aureole. Course we weren't doing this on the cheap either,so the service was reflective of what we spent.
Bellagio has an excellant Sunday brunch.

| My recommendation would be The Palm. The staff is great. They always remember us and give us great service. We also have alot of fun at Aureole watching the "wine angels" scale the wine cellar.
Valentino's was the worst train wreck. Emeril's place is also to be avoided.
