Instead of the usual clothes/DVD/CD's, etc that I usually get for Christams, my S.O. surprised me with an incredible present: a weekend trip to NYC in late January. Surprisingly, I've traveled to almost every major North American city and many in Europe, BUT NEVER TO NYC!

The present includes: a weekend stay at the Plaza, dinner at Peter Luger's Friday night (as an avid steak-lover, I absolutely cannot wait!), lunch at Carnegie Deli, dinner at Nobu and the Blue Man Group on Saturday night.

Anyone else get an unbelievable (non-wine) present for Christmas?

Blue Man Group and the Plaza. Can't beat that. Have a great time and hook up with some of these wine laden Nor'easterners. Wouldn't be a New York trip without that.

I believe we'll hit the Oak Bar for drinks before Peter Luger's on Friday. Anyone have any good recommendations for drinks before our dinner at Nobu? Preferably w/i walking distance, if possible.
