i haven't been in the area in a year or two. anything new/exciting dining wise that i should know of? i believe it's called "the vineyard house"(?) is where i usually hit.

I'm not sure, tbird, but I would slide a bit south and hit Bouchon in Santa Barbara. Food is excellent and the winelist is very well done. They carry local wines and you will definitely find a few gems on it.

jb, in deed i am gonna hit bouchon on the way back sunday night. hopefully it'll be a nice change from the wine cask?
