| We preferred the McMinnville area for several reasons. The town is at the Southern end of the portion of the Willamette Valley that we had planned to visit and would provide us with a headstart on our long drive when we left for the coast and Southern Oregon. The town is quieter than the 99W corridor in Dundee and Newberg, and we didn't want to stay in a Travelodge-type place. This is an old hotel that has been refurbished. Some of the rooms do not have private bathrooms, but we took the King Suite which, of course, had a private bathroom. The king-soze bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the staff was helpful. Our room was well-appointed with a sofa, chairs, and a beautiful coffee table. This is no luxury hotel. Rather, my description would be well-maintained and quaint. Breakfast in the restaurant downstairs was included in the cost of the suite. The breakfasts were good diner quality meals. At night, after dinner, a walk through the town was a pleasure.
I'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area wineries. Don't expect a Ritz-Carlton. | | |
