| Well I'm 61 and the chef is 70. Doesn't that make 131 years?
We are taking over a restaurant (normally closed on Sunday) including the kitchen for the day. At 2:30 the guys will gather at the restaurant and begin to prepare the entire meal from scratch under the tutelage of Chef Emile. At 5:30 the gals show up and we will serve them what we slaved over all afternoon. The big question is can we stay sober.
Dinner for 24
Reception:
Steak Tartar with Gaufrett Potatoes.
Belgian Endive with Curry Chicken and Apples.
Profiterol with Cheese Filling.
2000 Kistler Chardonnay McCrea Vineyard 2000 Testarossa Pinot Noir Pisoni Vineyard
Dinner:
Sauteed Prawns with butter garlic, white wine and herbs, served with a grilled risotto cake
2000 Kistler Chardonnay McCrea Vineyard
Roasted Rack of Lamb with a ratatouilli tower and lamb jus
2000 Williams Selyum Pinot Noir Hirsch Vineyard
Filo Flower Pot with creamy blue Castello, a bouquet of greens in a thyme vinaigrette, red wind poached apple and walnuts

| My guess is - you won't stay sober, the meal will be wonderful and the wines superb. No foie gras? 1990 d'Yquem, what a great wine.
Happy Birthday to you!!!

| I had fois gras Friday night (my real birthday) with a 1983 Yquem.
Do you think I would trust 11 other drunks to sear the fois at the last minute? No way!

| I forgot to say: tj and tbird... How is this for one-uping you two? Ha! 131 years! Emile is bringing in one other person; a dishwasher. The guys will take turns leaving their tables and do all the serving. I think I'll skip eating and just walk around with the wine (yeah, right!). | | | |

| Sounds fab, davidn. What we really need to do next time there is a mega-offline is to count up all the ages and then it'll be a dinner for the millennia, right? | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| Well, we had a grand time. All the wines were great! The group got together and gifted me a beautiful painting (30"x40") of a bottle of Yquem with two Riedel Sommelier Sauternes glasses of Yquem. The colors are amazing. Title: Gold In the Afternoon. GOLD IN THE AFTERNOON I'm outta here for a week. Got to carry my son back to old Virginnie. | | | |
