Had a business dinner at ILO in Bryant park Hotel last night. Prixe Fixe- $69, food was good, not great. Small portions. But GREAT Desserts!! A nice touch though...they sent us all home w/ a mini wrapped spice loaf, which was excellent this morning for breakfast.
I was asked to pick the wine... problem was not many wines under $100.
Termes 99 was $110. Numanthia 2000 was $100. I was sooo tempted by the Numanthia but knew it needed decanting time and since we would be drinking it right away went the safe route with a Behrens and Hitchcock 1999 Petite Sirah Barcini for $85 which was excellent. Deep plum flavors, dark berries and a smooth rounded finish.

look at you!! In the new job only a few weeks and you're already the toast of the town.
