In June 2004, we went to Alaska and caught some halibut. We immediately had the fish filleted, sealed/shrink-wrapped, and frozen. I just remembered we had it in the extra freezer in the basement.

So....two years later, do you think this halibut is still good?

I doubt you'll get sick from it if you cook it thoroughly, but the texture may have deteriorated. Give it a try and find out.

i wouldn't touch it. but i suppose if it passes the smell test, it should still be alright. it just wouldn't be worth it to me.

fish might last a couple of months in a frost free freezer and maybe a year in a non-frost free, after that it would flavorless at best. I would toss it
