Opaque purple with powerful nose of chocolate and nuts. Flavors of choclate and plums. Elegance, complexity, and balance indicate a wine near its prime. Neither of us understoof Parker's 97+ rating for this wine. 93.

Subdued nose of apples. An Alsatian-like richness with balancing acidity and lush tropical fruits. 90.

1994 Stonestreet Legacy
Opaque purple. Intense nose of cedar Flavors of cherries and chocolate with soft tannins aplenty. Complex and elegant, yet with plenty of punch. 92.

1999 Martinelli Three Colts Pinot Noir
Copious soft sediment. Intense fruit nose of berries. Oddly enough, unlike other Matinelli Pinot Noirs, there was no vanilla on the nose, but it was there on the palate along with ripe cherris. 92.

1999 Martinelli Jackass Zinfandel
Opaque purple (what else?). Nose seems devoid of fruit, but redolent of cedar. Rich, concentrated, packed with flavors of black fruits perfectly balanced by soft tannins. 94.
