We haven't vacationed in Rehobeth in several years but are going to do so again this summer (August).

Does anyone know what the corkage laws/policies are in that area? I know that in the past several people have said it is legal but that the restaurants will not permit it. Has anyone any more recent info?

I'd really like to be able to take some wine with me as there are some very good restaurants there and I plan to eat dinner out every evening (I hate making dinner while on vacation, lunch and breakfast are ok, but I perfer to let others make dinner, lazy I guess.) Obviously it will do no good to go as far south as MD, and Cape May is a trip, though it might be nice to take the ferry over one day, have dinner and ride back. I'd be willing to go to Lewes or Betheny or Dewey if the restaurant was very good and allowed corkage. If not, I'll have to buy off the wine list like I have done in the past.

Don't forget Chez La Mer is 50% off of their wine list price on Mondays. And check out the wine shop on the right hand side of the main drag as you head to the beach. Great folks run it and it is well chilled in there.

I'd call some of your favorite places there and see what they say. I like Chez La Mer and Fusion. La La Land is certainly worth a try, especially on a less crowded night.

You know me too well tj. I love Chez la Mer and Eden so I will call them. Never been to LaLa Land oddly enough.

I can't tell you about Rehobeth, but Cape May has a number of excellent BYO restaurants. 410 Bank St. is excellent, casual and BYO with a Thai-French fusion menu. Union Park is a little more upscale with an Amer-French slant and is BYO as well. Great restaurant. Some other fantastic spots (no BYO, but call ahead for corkage) are Ebbitt Room at Virginia Hotel, The Washington Inn, The Water's Edge (good wine list). Take that ferry ride and enjoy.

I forogt about Eden, that's the place on the main drag about a block or so from the ocean on the right hand side, too, with a small outdoor dining area, too, right?

jb, thanks for the tips. Might be worth a looksee the next time Mrs. TJ and I are over that way.

Hey dinwiddie--

Where did you get to BYOW in Rehoboth again? Mrs TJ and I will be heading there shortly and I'd like to BYOW where I can if possible.

Grazie!

We did corkage at the Back Porch and Eden Cafe. Chez La Mer did not permit it.
