| Spending one night in each. Where's the best place to go for dinner in each city? | | |

| Jones, this is off topic, but if you like a rich full-bodied coffee, the best I've ever had is organic mountain grown coffee we bought in Puerta Vallarta. I've since goitten in touch with the company and had it shipped to me. I'll take it over Jamaican Blu Mountain any day.
If you want to buy this, there's a British man named John selling it when a cruise ship is in town, which is almost every day. Go to the place where people board the ship. It's just to your left immediately before you'd have to board the ship. | | | |

| Thanks for the heads up. Since we'll be on a ship we should be able to find it. | | | |

| Oh, you sure will. If he has several different coffees, ask for the Echo Mountain (Eco Montaña). | | | |

| Dan, It has been several years since we've been to either of these cities. I'll do some checking though. I know that a place that we considered a "hidden treasure" to go has since opened up to the "tour bus" business. What kind of food do you want? Continental? "Gourmet" Mexican ? Tacos & enchiladas? Seafood? Seafood with a mexican touch? Do you want to avoid the big hotels completely? Would you consider eating "off the street"? | | | |

| There are SO many choices in PV. If you are coming off a cruise ship, you probably just want to do local seafood type stuff. I recommend Tino's in Pitillal - a cab ride from the Marina but worth it for the great seafood platter! Tinos | | In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. | We're flexible. Whatever the one "don't miss it" place serves works for us. | | | |

| Tino's. You can have a 'dining' experience lots of places, but the seafood platter they do is special. We always have the grilled fish, lobster and shrimp combo. It is fantastic. The restaurant is nothing to look at - cinderblock and conrete, but they sure know how to handle their seafood. | | In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. You mean you don't intend to spend the evening having tequila poured down your throat while bending upside down at the bar at Senor Frog's?? | | | Beta testing a new signature. | |

| LOL is right. Ohh, Jimmy you bring back memories for me. Senior Frogs!!! – I went there during Spring Break my senior year in college. We were there almost every night, a wild wild place/scene. A lot of very friendly college girls. Man, if you can’t hook up with someone @ Senior Frogs, you have problems. But, that’s all in the past now, in my past lifetime. Quick Brad, delete this thread. | | | |

| Had a nearly perfect 2 weeks in PV. Can't tell you enough good things about the Agave Grill at La Casa del Tequila. We had so many great new things there. Seared ostrich tostadas, fabulous chicken mole', great shrimp dishes, salads, a very different stuffed ancho chile with cheeses, raisins, pistachios. The margaritas are to die for, the desserts unique and delicious. Absolutely the best place in Puerto Vallarta. They do great tequila tastings (in Riedel glasses - I've already ordered some!). Left with several great bottles - Don German, Cava Antigua, and an interesting tequila cream liquor that kicks Bailey's ass right back across pond!
Other great spots - Archie's Wok, La Dolce Vita (great italian & wood-oven pizzas), and once again, Marisco's Tinos for the "grande grilleade" - a huge platter of lobster, crab, shrimps, scallops, grilled spice-rubbed fish, squid, etc.
Los Ochos Tostadas at the marina is a great lunch spot for fish tostadas and ceviche. Already planning another trip! | | In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is...

| Went here again (no surprise after visiting this place several years in a row.) Still the best shop/stop/.bar restaurant and THE BEST margarita in PV. The best selection of sippin' tequila and the very best bartender, aka Professore d Tequila. Sr Arnold. | | In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is...
