| Went here this morning to meet some family flying in. I haven't been there in at least a year and the quality of the food was clearly gone down. I don't think I'll be going back there again. | | |

| Went last year because I didn't want my first trip to LV to end without experiencing at least one buffet. I figured that if I was going to go to one, it might as well be the one rated as the "best". After the experience I concluded that if that was the best, I'd never step foot in another LV buffet again. Ugh. | | | Beta testing a new signature. | |

| Edward; They charged us $14 a person for breakfast.
Jimmy; It used to be very good. It was the only buffet we would ever go to. Now that's over.

| In 2002, we enjoyed the buffet at the Bellagio. We ate at three or four of them, and Bellagio's was head and shoulders above all of them. Sad to hear.

| I have only eaten at one Las Vegas buffet and it was at Mandalay Bay. Selection and quality was pretty good. The line getting in was 45 minutes. | | | |

| How much do these things cost these days?
I've heard that the best one in town is at that big casino not on the Strip on the way in from the airport. Has a wierd name like Crazy Clydes or something.
I haven't been to a Vegas buffet for a very long time. IIRC it was 69 cents.

| I "dined" at the Rio seafood buffet 2 Fridays ago. $35 and worth it. Brought in a Kistler chard with me as well (with stems) and was not charged any corkage. | | | |

| In Tahoe, the Harrah's buffet is still quite good. In general, buffets are grossly overrated. | | | |

| I take bottles in pretty much anywhere I go! Even a couple years ago in Vegas I brought a couple bottles in the Alladin diner (par dining for the group I was with). In places like this and the buffets, wait people seem pretty clueless about charging corkage. At the Rio they have this new self pay cashier system for their buffets and you can prepay the server's tip as well. Believe me, they do see your tip on the receipt when you first sit down and are quite grateful. But always bring your own stems into such places! | | | |

| I brought a bottle to the Bellagio buffet. They told me that corkage was $35. I told them that they were nuts, since the buffet doesn't have a wine list. I said I would pay $10 and no more, and that if we couldn't drink our wine, we would just have water and the restaurant would not make any money off of us on beverages. He wouldn't budge, so we had water. To me, the restaurant cut off its nose to spite its face. | | | Beta testing a new signature. | |

| JimmyV, I gotta think about bringing wine to a buffet. Hmmmm? Interesting idea. But I think $35 is only a little high for corkage and by Vegas standards is actually a pretty good price... at least I think I think that. I'm not 100% sure. What kind of glasses were they going to supply you with? The answer to this question could be really funny. And as far as the restaurant "cutting off their nose" it looks to me like you did the same thing. You could have walked. But you didn't. They got +-95% of what you were probably going to spend. They made a profit and you were stuck with water. Not that isn't the exact same way that I might have handeled it . Like I said, Hmmmm? | | | |

| Well, it's not like I brought a gem from my cellar. I had a $30-$40 Pinot with me that I thought could handle the variety of a buffet. No way was I going to spend $35 corkage for a $35 wine. As for cutting off my nose by drinking water, actually, water is my beverage of choice when I eat if I am not drinking wine. It's not like I was depriving myself, or "stuck" by ordering water. As for glassware, we were traveling with stems and brought those with us to the restaurant just in case. And while they may have made 95% of what they would have, I ate enough crab legs to make sure that they didn't make too much $$$ . In truth, the buffet was so mediocre that the crab legs were by far the best option. | | | Beta testing a new signature. | |

| JimmyV,
LOL.
Water is also my choice when it isn't wine. And if I had been there with you we could have really taken them to the cleaners. I'll bet I could have eaten at least the same amount of crab that you did. We could have "rooted" each other on.
I hope the crab legs were good. The rest of the buffet could be merde for all I care just so long as the crab was good. Did they have melted butter or cocktail sauce to go with the crab? I also assume you had to do the picking and cleaning.

"or"? What is "or"? BOTH!!!
As for picking and cleaning, they were snow crabs, so the meat came out easily. That's the beauty of a buffet. You get to engage in the luxury of indifference. If the meat doesn't come out easily, you toss the leg aside and get a new one! | | | Beta testing a new signature.
