We used to eat a place called Le Dome that was excellent. Johnny V's in Fort Lauderdale is worth a visit.

Agree on Martha's (although it has been years since I have been.) But while the passage of time may change what comes out of the kitchen, it will never change the fact that it has one of the most spectacular waterfront settings you could hope for.
Beta testing a new signature.

If you're wiling to travel to Ft. Lauderdale which is about20-25 minutes, I highly recommend Cafe Matoranos. South philly Italian food. The food is fantastic and the ambience is great fun. If you like itlalian food, ganster movies (they play scenes of The Godfather, Goodfellas, The Sopranos etc. on the plasma tvs) while listening to Frank Sinatra, D. Martin some disco in the background, look no further, this place is an experience you won't forget. If you go, give me a heads up, I'll let you know what I think you should order.

I'm staying at the Westin, so it's a lock I'll eat at Hollywood Prime one night. Great suggestions folks. Appreciate it!

You will enjoy the Westin. The pool is a very nice place to be.

We used to have a very nice connection there -- rooms for $79/night. The front desk manager was my wife's old boss, but sadly, she has moved to another hotel

Just saw this, as we just returned from out of the country yesterday. MLV and I live in Hollywood.

If you want to stay within Hollywood, the best place is probably Michael's Kitchen on Harrison Street. For thin crust pizza, Lucce on Harrison Street. For normal pizza, if you are lunching on the beach, Sahara (sounds weird, but it is really good), on the Broadwalk. Le Tub on AIA is also worthwhile although inundated since Alan Richman pronounced theirs the number 1 burger in the country not to miss in GQ recently.

If you want to venture to Fort Lauderdale, MLV and I frequent, Cafe Seville for Spanish, Hi-Life Cafe for eclectic American and Greek Islands Taverna for Greek.

What's the BYO policy in Florida? Hollywood?

Marty, in most years, we go to Florida four or five times. We've found that calling a restaurant in advance usually works. more than half the time we do that, they allow BYO. There are so many places that do that, that we rarely buy wine in restaurants in Florida. I don't think we'vr bought wine in a restaurant in Florida in years.

Exactly right.

You may have to pay corkage some places.
Cafe Europe has a deal that we can bring a wine older than 1997 for a small token corkage. They also have deal on the white wines too.
