Go to St. Elmo Steak House.

I've been there once and that evening I had to do the heimlich on a lady at the next table.

And in all my life I have never had such HOT horseradish on a shrimp cocktail. I like things hot (like I put tabasco sauce on my jalepinos) but I never ever had anything like this. I couldn't finish it.

Check out themenu.

Here is therehome page.

Btw, the steaks were good and what a great, fun atmosphere.

I highly recommend Mo's, A Place for Steaks (http://www.mosindy.com/). Ate there about two years ago and had a great meal and great service. Not the best wine list, but you'll manage.

I would also second DavidN on Elmos.

The two best restaurants in Indianapolis are Elements and R Bistro. I'm not even sure there is a close third...

Elements, R Bistro and St. Elmo's are all very good and I would recommend each. Another suggestion is Dunaway's. It is about a five minute drive from the center of downtown. The food is wonderful (the Bone-In Ribeye is great) and the wine list is very good. Dunaway's also runs some wine specials every once in a while. For instance, the last time my wife and I were there they were selling '94 Ridge Monte Bello for $130 a 750ml. I will warn you that the service can be shakey sometimes. But, all in all, it is a wonderful restaurant.

The website is www.dunaways.com
