Hi Vinocellar folks,

Thought I'd pass along a note from the owners of Park Avenue on Piedmont AVe in Oakland, and Rolloing Dunes restaurants, all of which are owned b the same two morons.

The message is, they don't care about their customers, and they don't care about their staff. Recently, they hired a friend of ours to get her to turn around their restaurant, "Rolling DUnes" off of Piedmont Avenue in Oakland. They changed the name to Park Avenue, upped the menu (or so it appeared) and brought this woman in with an understanding that she was supposed to turn the restaurant around.

I"ve been in a few times, the menu was "okay" but too large, the wine list sucked and the best you could really do was get breakfast. Maybe. You were probably better off going somewhere else, even with the changes suggested by the exec chef AND numerous customers.

So, exec chef hired GF, then brought on a new line cook, waiter and I believe one other person in the kitchen, but they kept the "trash" people even after one of the waitresses was caught stealing and selling beer out of the restaurant.

Recently it was suggested that they were going to change the menu back to the Rolling Dunes menu, and if that was to happen, the exec chef and all four people who came in with her would walk out.

Just wanted to pass this along to anyone interested. I know we're all wine lovers, and for most of us, food goes hand in hand with that. I know each one of us has had wonderful experiences with restaurants and would HATE to see those employees get screwed because their owners were morons. I'd actually call for a boycott of Rolling Dunes and Park Avenue but I don't have that power yet.

Sorry for the rant! It just annoys me when I find out that places I dine at don't care about anyone.

You mean there's more than one Park Avenue? Geez, I thought the only one was in NYC.
