We are considering going to the 18th Annual California Barrel Tasting and Dinner that will be held in Washington DC, May 2nd & 3rd 2003 at the Watergate Hotel. It is $275 / person for the dinner and $125 / person for the barrel tasting.

Has anyone been to this? Is it worth the $$, time and travel (West Coast to east Coast)?

Andy Bassin's Macarthur Beverages is a class act place. I am sure their events are top notch. BUT, the price is kinda steep. So not really sure...

Wow, $275 for the meal is extremely steep. Personally, I'd pass on the dinner and pay the $$$ for the tasting, if that's even an option. Looks like some quality wineries offering tastings.

I am thinking about going to the tasting myself... should be a lot of fun and very educational.
