| I'm sure there must be a thread on this, but I can't seem to find it...
I would like to do BYO at a few nice restaurants this winter when I am in NYC. Anyone have any suggestions of good Manhatten restaurants that charge $25/bottle or less for corkage?
Also, three specific questions: does anyone know the corkage policies at Daniel, Bouley, or the corkage/still openness of La Cote Basque (I heard a rumor that it just closed)?
Finally, other than Luxia (which Future Mrs Whiner and I LOVE and will eat at at least once per visit), Esca, and Dervish Turkish, are ther any post-theatre places we need to check out?

| Whiner, La Cote Basque closed by the owners opened LCB Bistro, a less informal restaurant though I hear it's excellent. When are you coming to NYC? It'd be nice to get a group together for a dinner with you if you have the time. There are a number of restaurants that allow corkage. Many of them will if you just call and ask. We had an offline a few months ago at Montparnasse with amedemonet, 10BuckKid, Slan, and Keith Scott. Also, check this site: http://www.tastersguildny.com/byob.shtml | | | |

| Dude, just call places you want to go and ask. Are you just looking for post-theater places? Or is anything fair game? | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| I'd all ahead. Brought a bunch of bottles back one time and literally NOONE, save Morton's, would open them up. Alfredo's of Rome, Esca, Zann's and a couple of other places turned me down. How disappointing is it to go to NYC and end up eating at Morton's? | | | |
