Laurent Gras has left Fifth Floor as of last Saturday and Melissa Perello will start on November 18th. The restaurant will close on November 15th for minor kitchen renovations and reopen on the 18th with Perello at the stoves (that's pretty quick).

I had always wanted to go to Charles Nob Hill while she was there but never made it.

Anyone up for dinner at Fifth Floor in late November?

I also want to hit The Dinning Room at the Ritz Carlton and Michael Mina (if the Hotel lockout ever gets resolved).

My hubby lurks occasionally when I tell him about something interesting or funny. He likes the TIVO and geeky hi-tech toy discussions. I've asked him to just look away from the carnage in "What are you buying lately?" With a wireless network, 4 PCs and other devices we can pretty much surf from any room and most of the backyard.

The Duchess and I would be up for it, but we're out of town the week of Thanksgiving. Also, if we go on a weeknight I need to keep it fairly early (sometimes I hate the early hours I need to keep ). Anyone else?

Almost booked 5th Floor for mdinner tonight when we arrive. Glad we didn't: you never know how a transition is going to go, and a poor experience that is kitchen staff-induced would be a bummer when you only visit a city once a year.
