Any not-to-miss places?
I'll be rolling through Sawgrass later on. No, no golf for me this go around. Probably best, I haven't played in awhile.

"Not-to-miss"?? No. Not really. In Jacksonville, Hooters counts as fine dining and culture. But I've had good meals at the following places (5-7 years ago):

The Wine Cellar in Jacksonville. Probably the most wine-serious place.

The Grill in the Ritz Carlton of Amelia Island. Typical RC restaurant. Fine food and wine. Pricey, and no soul or passion.

Beech Street Grill in Fernadina Beach near Amelia Island. Best of the lot. Nicely appointed in an old house in a cute old town. Expressive menu and good wine list.

Funny that you mention that, JimmyV. I was there about the same time period for a training session. The first day I was in training, I asked three different people where to go for dinner. All three said Hooters.

Ever since, I have never thought of it as a fine dining town, though I'm sure that is unfair to the city.

Be prepared for all kinds of weather there. Last time we were there it was 18 degrees. Time before that, it snowed. ATeam and toetag live there.
