I did a search for the latest in Santa Barbara dining and couldn't find anything. Any quick recommendations for lunch and dinner?

TIA

GA - Well said. This aspect of 'freedom of speech' often seems to get lost in translation.

Great suggestions - and it only took 3 minutes.

I have always enjoyed Bouchon and the Wine Cask. I will have to seek out Miro. Thanks for the recommendations.

GATC,

Look here:Nippers.com

In addition to Dan's list check out:

Lucky's
Downey's
Trattoria Mollie
Olio E Limone

We've eatin at the four above plus Bouchon and Wine Cask (all several times). Our favorite over all is Wine Cask but that is because we know the owner and most of his staff. They take great care of us.

My second best (and probably the most interesting and best food) is Lucky's. Last time we were there we were seated in one of the small rooms with only one other table in it. At that table was Carol Burnett, her husband and a friend. I asked here if she would do her Tarzan yell.

Arguably the best Mexican food in the USA and was definetly Julia Child's favorite is/wasLa Superica. I put the web link here because it is something that takes many word to explain. It is the Taylor's of Mexican food.

A place where we have been disappointed twice is Sage & Onion .

Sage & Onion, hands down one of our favorite restaruants of all time. Sorry David you didn't like it.website here

For lunch, although its a bit overrated, La Super Rica on Milpas St. I was there last week, saw the most smokin' chick.........en -- on my taco Jeeeezus. BTW, David, my tacos are better, but they're not for sale.

Bouchon
Downy's

Both are delicious indeed. Speaking of Julia Childs, she ate right next to us when we dined at Downy's. My next dinner in SB will be at Wine Cask.

Didn't have enough time for dinner at Miro's or Bouchon due to my flight and their opening times, but had a very nice lunch at Wine Cask. Thanks for the recommendations. I definitely have to stop doing these day trips.
