Sorry folks, I know I posted about Barbados, but with a 3 year old, we want to keep our air time to a min. And, Bermuda is only a 2-2.5 hour flight for us. So, again, looking for the same type suggestions.

So, thinking about going for T-Giving. My 1st question to those in the know, is that a good time to go (as far as climate goes)?

Also, would appreciate Hotel recommendations. Going with a three year old. So, a baby-friendly hotel would be good.

Also, I never really do "all inclusive vacations", but if there is a nice hotel(s) with good food that offer an "all inclusive" package, I would like to look into that type of a deal.

P.S.: Hotel must be very near the beach, on the beach.

Thank You as always.

Our favorite is Marriott's Castle Harbor. The hotel is centrally located on the island. It's beautiful and you can get a package including breakfast. I can recommend some very special restaurants if you go. The hotel has a small beach on the lagoon, but a short free shuttle ride away is a private beautiful hotel beach. Ask for a room in the newest wing, which has large patio type balconies. If you're definitely going, let me know. I could type forever on Bermuda. The island does have a Winter, and in January and February the high temp is often in the low 60s. Having never been there in November, I can't say for sure, but I'd expect to fine and the ocean plenty warm.

LCC/Board-O...

Bermuda's a good choice, but unfortunately the Marriott is closed and has been for the past few years. Don't know exactly what the circumstances were but to the best of my knowledge, they've been closed for a few yearrs. The times when my wife and I were in Bermuda we stayed at the Hamilton Princess which is now the Fairmont Hamilton Princess. We liked this hotel better than the Southampton Princess which is on the beach but is a large convention oriented hotel. You can grab a water taxi to the Southampton from the dock at the Hamilton and then use the beach at the Southampton. There's also the Elbow Beach Hotel which is very nice and on the beach. There are a lot of other hotels that you can choose from in a variety of categories so a choice won't be hard. I'm pretty sure that there aren't any all inclusives in Bermuda as it isn't conducive for that type of market.

We've only been to Bermuda in the summer, not November so I can't speak to how warm it'll be but I wouldn't expect 80 plus degrees at that time of year.

We have been several times, on cruises to Bermuda- we love Bermuda (more than the Caribbean) but it is quite expensive! November may be chilly (non-beach) season... the cruises stop going in October.

The Hamilton Princess is right in town and I'd never stay there. It's primarily a business hotel populated by visiting insurance industry executives. My son's company put him up there for 7 weeks last Winter. The Stonington is nice as is the food. I thought the Southampton Princess pretty much of a madhouse, thopugh their top restaurant, Waterlot, is quite good. I've eaten at the Fairway (or was it Fourway) Inn and found the food excellent. It seems like a great place to saty.

As for the Hamilton Princess, yes, you're right, it's an in town hotel that caters mostly to a corporate clientele. We found it's proximity to Hamilton's restaurants and the fact that if we wanted the beach, we could get across the harbor and use the Southampton's beach to be a plus. I really would have wanted to stay at Elbow Beach but the cost was prohibitive and I was working for Princess Hotels at the time, so the price was right...

LCC -

I live in Bermuda and am happy to help in whatever way I can.

Most importantly, if you are looking for sun and warmth over Thanksgiving, I would not bet on Bermuda. There is a chance it could be nice (certainly relative to the Northeast), but the weather is highly unpredictable that time of year. IMHO, the very best months down here are September/October and May/June.

If you're looking for kid friendly places, I suspect the safest bets will be the bigger hotels. With your beach requirement, that means Elbow Beach Hotel or Southampton Princess Hotel. Other nice hotels that are on the water, but are not quite as big, include: The Reefs Hotel, Ariel Sands Hotel, Cambridge Beaches Hotel (though not close to town at all), Grotto Bay Hotel and Pompano Beach Hotel.

I have never heard of all-inclusive deals down here, which is not to say they don't exist.

If you're still interested in coming down, let me know and I'd be happy to help further.
