I heard about this in my monthly Zagat update. For the month of June, Lark Creek's five restauants will offer their all-American wine list selections at 50% off.

They did this last year in the month of June. One Market participated last year.

The problem with One Market even with cheaper wine remains the food. I work a block away and never go there voluntarily.

I've only had experience with Lark Creek on Locust in Walnut Creek. I enjoy having lunch outside on a nice day. They seem to do very well with lighter fare. The heavier courses are hit and miss and mostly uninspiring. I'm not sure how the prices are at other locations, but in WC, 50% puts some wines below retail.

Jones-
other than the Parker/Latour tasting last year I have never been to One Market. Is the food bad? Do tell

Not bad but decidedly mediocre. Very straightforward preparations priced in the high twenties per entree. Service is lackadaisical. It survives on business lunches and dinners from the Embarcaderos.

Thank you for the warning. I only get to dine in S.F. about twice a month so I am glad to hear about places to NOT waste my time at.

I've always liked Bradley Ogden's places. Good tip on One Market.

The wine deal is also good at Parcel 104 in Santa Clara but only on Friday and Saturday nights (which makes no sense to me at all).

The Grill on the Alley in the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose is also having a half-price wine deal for the month of June. However it does say "selected" wines.

The Burgers at Lark Creek in Walnut Creek are excellent...so pick a 50% cab and get a burger (in fact, invite me along ). Don't expect much from the service tho cuz it's been below avg to terrible each time I've been there (haven't had the same problem with the LC in Larkspur tho).
