Jacks (I think that is what it is called) in the Village in La Jolla is supposed to be pretty good. I'll be going there in late May so I'll find out first hand then.

We ate at Thee Bungalow Sunday night (wife's birthday) and everything was excellent. Brought in 2 bottles and they waived the corkage on the '64 birthyear wine. The wine list had some pretty good prices. I tried to buy some 2003 Lafite for the $270 wine list price to go, no luck on that plan though.

Had a decent dinner earlier this week at Osetra Fishouse in the gaslamp area.  Had a very good but slightly too-spicy leek-potato soup, and a well-prepared grilled salmon.  Wine markups were all over the place, but many wines could be found for 2x retail or less.  Service however was poorly timed, with soup being served before the wine that had been ordered arrived, waiters who seemed pushy, yet inattentive, constantly asking to take our order while we were still looking at the menu.  If they coiuld improve the service, this would be nice stop.

Going to San Diego next week from the 27th - 31th.  I'm going to try Wine Seller and Brasserie for sure.
Anywhere else I must go while I'm there?

I tried a couple places on my visit last week. The Prado in Balboa Park was pretty good, outdoor seating was excellent. Charged me $15 corkage for one bottle, waived the second fee. Kennsington Grill was good food and free corkage on Thursdays :-). Went to an offline wine dinner at Terra (corkage was waived for this) and the food was very good as well. Service was good and friendly at all places.

3rd Corner wine store and restaurant in Ocean Beach was highly recommended but did not make it.

I'm in SD and headed to the Brasserie tonight.  I'll report on my thoughts.

WineSeller & Brasserie was phenominal!
I had the 5 course tasting menu along with the wine parings (which were awesome) and really enjoyed it!
I will 200% be going back next time I'm in town.
