...we were in and out in a little over 5 hours at about $51 dollars and hour per head.
Man!  You did get by cheap.  I've never got out of there without pushing $100 per hour per person for five or six hours.

Was Mr. Keller there?  With a restaurant in NYC, another in LV and three (soon to be 3.5) in Yountville how often is he at the Laundry?  Does he ever come down to Bouchon?  We saw him having brunch at Ad Hoc with Ann Colgin a couple of Sundays ago.

He doesn't ever actually cook anymore unless the tv camera's or reporters are around. He eats at Bouchon, when he is in town about 2-3 times a week.

He was cooking the previous time we were there with the bressler's. we did the "trade course" thing, and it remains the single best meal of my life. However, after 6 desserts, I was begging for the bill. And I am into desserts!!!

Dinner last night at TFL.  We were with another couple who spend 3 months a year in the Napa Valley and usually eat at the Laundry 5 or 6 times during that period.  SO the fact that I was a 'vendor' paled in comparison with the attention they get.  Thomas even came out to say hello, which he rarely does.

That said, it was still $100/person/hour and we were very light on the wine
2005 Michel Niellon "Les Vergers" Chassagne Montrachet (excellent and a good value on the list - thank you Jason)
2003 Brogan Cellars "Lone Redwood" PN - a very burgundian style wine (corkage)

It was only 12 courses plus the beginning and ending treats, which was a good thing as I was full but not in pain as sometimes happens. And, while it is impossible to quantify the quality of the dishes, Meadowood is just as good and sometimes better.  Except of course for the Oysters & Pearls.

Sasha and I are doing this.  I'll post thoughts if I still have any after a full lunch and wine pairings at TFL.

Randy, that sounds like a great event. You probably won't have too many thoughts other than "nap time" but we would like to hear them anyway.
