Back from a long weekend there. Drank our way through about 7 or 8 wineries and a few more over dinners. Generally, they still do sweet wines and white wines far better than reds. Except for Vidal, most producers have abandoned virtually all non-vitis vinifera varietals. Most of the reds still taste off, either too herbaceous or too vegetal. The 2007s were almost all universally good, with some very good, to even great (particularly the ice wines). Their dining scene continues to improve, but most of the best places are outside of NOTL-proper (but not too far out). All in all a great weekend of wining, dining, theatering and enjoying the pastoral setting and nice weather.

Where did you eat? We were there last month and thought the restaurant at Hillebrand was amazing and definitely the best meal we had during our trip.

Also loved the theater. This season we thought the lunch play, The President, was the best.

We had dinner at Hillebrand, and it was quite nice. We also ate at the restaurant at the Oban Inn (Tony Luca?), which was also nice and good. But the star of the show was where the locals hang out and eat at the slightly difficult to find Stone Road Grill. Very casual, slightly hustle and bustle-y and really great food. A stand out.

While there, we saw 'Getting Married' and 'A Little Night Music' and enjoyed them both.
