I can't seem to find the Where - Orlando thread and when i just search for Orlando I get some threads that are a couple of years old and mix with Tampa...

Staying right near the Convention center.  need a place to take a client last minute.  PE group picking up tab
Dux is full, resort places (California Grill and Citricos) might be be too far if some of the people are staying at the airport (checking on that now).  any ideas or links to threads?

should be there sunday night too, but sat night is the meeting.

TIA

City Walk at Universal is closer than WDW, so you may want to take a look at Emeril's or his other place, Tchoup Shop. (Or is it Tchoup House). Either way, those are both good options and can be booked via Open Table.

There's a CPK right by the convention center, not to mention an Outback :-p

Is fine dining and Orlando an oxymoron? ;)

Second Emeril's. Probably one of the best restaurants you'll find in Orlando (or at least that I've found). For a more casual experience, House of Blues was also actually surprisingly decent...great sauteed calamari.

One observation about Emeril's, it's basically in Universal Studios and if you dine there you might see a few Nascar hats and mullets...for me it only added to the experience...but for some that could be a turnoff when in such a "fine" dining establishment.

I'm sorry about that, Vine, but I didn't have anything else to wear except for my Nascar hat...

I'm not a fan, but I am impressed with how they repackaged and marketed Nascar into a "sport". To me, it ranks up there with "Apply, Rinse, Apply again" for doubling the sales of shampoo.

sorry for not responding sooner.

we ate at the Westin Imagine where we were staying ( brand new and hardly anyone there). they gave us a private room and the food was tasty. The wine list was alomst non-existant but the crowd was not that wine savy so it worked out ok.

Drew: It's an hour drive to Tampa. Take advantage if you can.

Mise en Place
Donatello's
Bruschetta (although that's New Port Richey, so closer to 1.75 hours)

Depending when you're in town, perhaps an offline???

Will be in town 9/15-9/20, guessing that 9/20 is going to be my only real "free" day, although I'm sure we'll have some event in the Magic Kingdom area. Laying over the extra day (9/20), as it was pretty cheap to extend and I figure I might as well take advantage of it while I can. Turns out I'm actually a little SW of Disney World (Gaylord Palms?), so I'm not in Orlando proper. Should have a better idea of what's going on some time this week.

We ate at the Gaylord Palms (the Mediterranean-inspired buffet-style place), and it was actually pretty decent.
