Heading to Vegas at the end of September to ring in my (gulp) 40th. Staying at Palazzo. Where should I go for one solid meal that won't totally blow the Hold 'em budget? I'll try to hit LOS for the other night to save a couple buck.

Will be in Vegas 8-21 through 8-24.
Definitely going to dine at the Bubbles Bar at Guy Savoy...in my opinion it is the best fine dining value in the US...4 small portions (think small appetizers) for $40...when we went in March, it was more than enough food and a great deal, particularly since the tasting menu there is approaching $300.

Will also go to Lotus of Siam...mmmm....sour sausage appetizer with crispy rice!

Still trying to decide on our other meals.

Most of the restaurants at the MGM have a "Summer Tasting Menu" promotion going through August 31st.  I had excellent meals at Craftsteak and L'Atelier last month, at reasonable (for LV) prices.  Menus and prices are here MGM Summer Menus

Thanks, scottj.  We're leaving tomorrow.  We've been to most of the places at MGM, and may very well go to L'Atelier tomorrow night...depends on how much we eat at Lotus of Siam tomorrow for lunch!

Thanks, Winetex.  We did.  A profitable weekend at the poker tables (basically paid for all our dining) and way too much eating.

We went to:

Lotus of Siam (awesome as always--nam kao tod, crispy duck w/panang curry, khao soi w/ chicken, mango w/sticky rice and coconut ice cream, and a great Donnhoff riesling)
Joe's Stone Crab (had several Lettuce Entertain You rewards certificates, so we ate a bunch of great shellfish for basically free)
Olive's (lunch on the patio--beef carpaccio and a couple of flatbread pizzas--very solid, and the view is fantastic)
Bubble's Bar at Guy Savoy (I still think this is the best value in fine dining in the US, if not the world--simply amazing--they even remembered us from March, even though we just walked in without reservations both times)
Mesa Grill (We really like this place for lunch/brunch--very good)
BOA Steakhouse (because we had too much to eat at Mesa, we just went to the bar here and had cocktails and apps--very good, will definitely go back; had read that they have the best/most original cocktails in Vegas, and I agree; apps were good too--calimari and artichoke frito misto, thich cut bacon and tomato salad, and truffled mac and cheese)
Dos Caminos (new mexican place at the Palazzo; we had bruch; it was very good, just make sure if you order guacamole that you get it mild; we ordered medium and it lit us up...nothing a couple of sangrias and margaritas couldn't put out, but still very hot (and I like spicy food); the egg dishes we had were fantastic).

Didn't have much wine this trip...other than the Donnhoff at LoS, we had a few glasses at Guy Savoy (a very good '05 Volnay and a nice '05 Chapoutier CDP, albeit very pricey)...prices are just out of control in Vegas and we didn't want to take anything with us this trip.

We had planned on hitting InNOut on the way to the airport on Sunday afternoon, but we stayed up way too late on Saturday night, leading to a later start to the day on Sunday than we had planned, and as a result we weren't hungry before our flight left.  Definitely next time.

Bellagio is great to go to especially when you want to be pampered. We go there about 3 times a year and feel so rested and rejuvenated when we get back. Delmonico's is wonderful as well. I think Vegas is a awesome place to go to and the people are so friendly. Seems like that there are good advince in the comments thus far. Good luck!

We ended up visiting Bellagio for the highly rated brunch buffett. It was nice... but I can't honestly say it was 100% worth the price and hour long wait.

Just saw MGM Grand deals for $79/night. Vegas is cheap right now.... and flight tickets are on there way down as well!!
If you drink wine, you get smarter....
