I know that Bordeaux is spelled with an X. What's with some magazines and newspapers spelling it Bordeau? Is this the anglosized spelling? Is this just as acceptable?

i've never seen it without the x. i see it as bdx often though.

Certainly if Microsoft was responsible for wines types, it would be .bdx
