Saw a guy using this thing tonight.  I was totally unconvinced.
Any experience with this?  Sorry, I tried to search but we all know how that works....

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is... .ps - friends don't let friends eat farmed salmon.

Think P.T. Barnum!!! I think these things sell for around $100. They probably cost about 50 cents to manufacture.

Here is the link since it's messed up in Kpak's post:

Not sure about the science (is there any?) but it might be fund to play with. It's about as wine geeky as me with my infrared thermometer. :)

looks bogus to me, as the aging process is immeasurably complex with all the multiple-order reactions, equilibria, and all that nerdy stuff that happens

would be nice to hear some theory behind this

When dipped into wine, the patented metal alloy on the tip replicates the aging process, softening the tannins in young wines and improving their taste. Tested over 10 years by scientists and sommeliers

Aha, there's the secret!! You have to dip it into the wine for 10 years.

Had a table that ordered wine last night (straight up Jersey Italian folk, asking where our pasta on the menu was etc) that made me attach an aerator pour spot to the bottle to pour for them(nothing like having to take 45 seconds to pour a glass of wine at a table). The lady then proceeded to whip out this exact device and dip into all of the glasses of wine. Quite humorous.
