Hey,
I have just recently gotten into wine (I turned 21 in March so I am extremely new) so excuse me if my question is so beginner-wino it's laughable.
The 2005 Bordeaux futures craze has intrigued me. While I do not intend to purchase any (well maybe some in the $30-$75 range

) I have thought about purchasing a 1986 Chateau Lafite-Rothschild which I have read is an excellent wine and is currently in it's "drinking window". However I can easily find a 1986 CLR for $250/375ml while a 2005 is running about $585, slightly more than the '86.
I don't understand why an older wine from the same vineyard, a wine that is supposed to be superb, is cheaper than a wine that won't reach maturity for 20 years.
Sorry if the question is silly I just haven't found an answer anywhere else online! Thanks alot!
