oh, all right, if you have to have an argument, it is 75% of that year's Cabernet. That is, if you blend back a little of the next year's cab - even though it is cab, it doesn't count.

Really? I never thought about it before.

So you're saying that a wine that was 70% 2002 Cabernet, 15% 2002 other varietals and 15% other vintage Cabernet could not legally be labelled Cabernet even though it contained >75% Cab, though presumably it could legally be labelled 2002 vintage?

Currently to be a vintage wine the wine must contain 95% of the listed vintage. Some folks want to reduce this number.

You're right. 85% is the percentage of varietal in Australia and most other countries.
