| From Mendoza, Argentina. Made by the same producers of Altos Las Hormigas, it's their basic wine, 100% Bonarda, unoaked and unfiltered. Opened and served right away. Very dark color, almost black. Aromas of plums and raspberry, but that's about it. It began somewhat bitter on the palate, but smoothed out after 30 minutes or so. Medium body, low acidity. Nothing to write home about, but hey, it's an under $10 wine. Good for a party, to order by the case for the non-winos, occasionally having a sip. Drink now till 2006. 85 pts. | | |
