| - 2004 Concha y Toro Merlot Marqués de Casa Concha - Chile, Central Valley, Rapel Valley, Peumo (9/7/2008)
Popped and poured. Inky, deep hue. Interesting nose, with blackberry, plum, tar, tobacco & other herbs...........and that interesting, almost funky aroma typical of Chilean reds that is always hard to pin. Plus concentration, the flavors on the palate mirror the nose. Youthful and intense, not for the faint of heart. I would give this another 2-4 years in bottle. Good stuff, Concha rarely disappoints with this bottling. (88 pts.)
