From Argentina
90% Malbec, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon
$54CAD

Intense ruby colour with a tinge of purple. Powerful nose with aromas of cassis and espresso. Teardrop legs. Juicy, full-bodied wine with plum, raspberry, currant, and bramble on the palate. A seriously rich wine with a long fruit finish and hints of oak. 91 points.

Any of the Alta wines made by Catena are seriously well made wines. Kybo intoduced me to some of them and they have all been great. There is a bottle of this here in Louisville for $46 and I keep on looking at it. BTW this wine benefits from a good 90 minutes of decanting.

This is the best Malbec I've had. While perhaps not saying much, it is saying something .A well made Argentine wine from a top producer in a good year.
