2003 Justin Obtuse Port (WIML88,NOWA,NOWS)

Tasted March 24, 2005 at an offline so brief comments only. Opened and served immediately in Spiegelau Authentis Magnum glasses. Dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose is hot; no doubt from the 20% alcohol by volume (Yowza!). Picked up some aromas of dried plums, black currants and a slightly unusal wet earth aroma. Flavors of sweet cherries and golden raisins. This wine took on new dimensions when paired with a chocolate dessert. Classic case of a “food wine”. Not something I would buy for my cellar but could quite possibly find a home in yours.
