| from vintner Michael Wenzel: "This is the flagship of our Ruster Ausbruch wines. “Saz” stands for the historically important lage [vineyard area] on our property. The idea was to create a Ruster Ausbruch from grapes that have been the traditional combination used for hundreds of years: 60% Furmint and 40% Muskateller. In the glass it is a beautiful sparkly yellow. The nose is immensely fruity, with notes of apricot and citrus fruits. An explosion of fruits. On the palate you are overwhelmed by the finesse of the acid which carries the wine and builds the backbone for long cellaring potential. The 2001 Saz was aged for 18 months in new wood barrels."
from Wine Enthusiast Magazine: Apricot and orange marmalade scents presage this wine's viscous sweetness, but the wine also boasts incredible precision and clarity to its flavors. Dried apricots, honey and citrus all come together in a complex swirl that never seems too heavy or cloying. Finishes with a hint of bergamots (the flavoring in Earl Grey tea).
from Falstaff Wine Guide: Intense yellow-gold; delicately spicy-fruity honeyed aromas and nutmeg, very clear botrytis character; succulent and textured on the palate, highly fruit-driven and delicious with racy acidity; very alluring and already tempting now, but a long life will be guaranteed.
from Tastings.com: Deep yellow-gold luster. Beeswax and spice aromas follow through on a rich, medium-bodied palate with intense sweet apple and spice flavors that linger on a very well-focused finish. A very refined and elegant ausbruch with great aging potential.
from Food & Wine 2005 Guide: Excellent. Top-notch example of type. Sweet, full-bodied, high acidity.

| I was asked on one of my other tasting notes to include the price of the bottle, so I am now doing this for all of my TN's.
This bottle retails from $86.99 to $120.00
