| This Trockenbeerenauslese dessert wine, from a blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc), announces itself with a deep gold-yellow color and then amazes with clear ripe fruits and spicy notes. It has a wonderful sweet/tart balance (202 g/l residual sugar to 10.4 g/l acid) while remaining resolutely juicy. Prepare yourself for the finish: it's long. Really long. Long and laden with honey and melons. -winemonger | | |

| Winemonger - Thank you for all of these TNs. Are these wines you import? Me thinks they are probably fairly difficult to find at retail. | | | |

| Hi! Yes, I do import all of these wines, which is why I try to add some "non-biased" info with the notes (and excluded whatever points a publication gave the wine.) We also retail all of our wines direct to consumers, but I didn't want to advertise that with the notes since I really do just like to share what info I have outside of trying to sell bottles. Since we import the wines, it means we don't sell wines that we buy from distributors. We actually go to every winery, meet the vintners and taste the wines before choosing what to bring on back to share with fellow wine-lovers. That all said: we sell the wines from an online website and can ship to folks in 26 states (including Texas, btw) We have not launched the online store quite yet, but you can go there and make reservations for some of our wines, or leave your email to be notified when we do launch. We expect to be up and running within the next few weeks. The site is www.winemonger.com.Our goal is to put as much information about a wine as anyone could want, but if you ever want more info, feel free send me a message. Best, Emily | | | |

| Thank you for the information. It really helps to have some background on wines, especially when they are from areas that have limited distribution. |

| I couldn't agree more! So on that note, here is some information about the winery in this thread, Gsellmann & Gsellmann:
The Gsellmann brothers, Hans and Mattias, do it all: world class late harvest dessert wines, powerful red wines, and beautifully structured white wines. They achieved this by completely restructuring their winery to take best advantage of their vineyards which spread out across 60 acres on the south facing slopes of the Parndorf Plateau, soaking it up in a climate that is known for its high humidity and moderate temperatures. But with all of the changes made they didn’t toss the baby with the bathwater: the modern techniques are weaved together with long standing family traditions and vines that are over 30 years old. Vines that include a laundry list of grapes-grown-in-Austria: Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Sheurebe, St. Laurent, Welschriesling, and Zweigelt. The Gsellmann & Gsellmann winery, located in the town of Gols, has an annual production of 10,830 cases: 65% red, 32% white, and 3% sweet.
PANNOBILE. Sure, it means nothing to you now but it soon will: Pannobile is the name of a group of 8 independent wineries in the Burgenland region whose aim is to produce “wines with a profile”, meaning wines that are powerful, multi-layered, dense and fruity, and usually aged in oak barrels. The vintners give the name to their flagship wine, and for the Gsellmann brothers the Pannobile wines come from their best single vineyards: Ungerberg, Altenberg, Gabarinza, Salzberg, and Spiegel. These vines in particular yield wines that are very ripe, opulent and full bodied. It is the goal of the brothers to make expressive wines that reflect the typical characteristics of the grapes, climate and vineyard sites.
“Our wines showcase individuality and a concerted philosophy - this is a challenge to us, every year anew."

| I was asked on one of my other tasting notes to include the price of the bottle, so I am now doing this for all of my TN's.
This bottle retails for: $27.00 | | | |
