If d'Yquem is normally out of your price range this is your chance and you won't feel ripped off. Opened and let sit overnight uncorked in the refrig to allow some petrol to blow off. Tasted against the 2001 Doisey Vedrines, the d'Yquem showed why it is the King. While this probably will not make you pee your pants like the fantastic '97, it is a superb wine.

Full body and an exquisitely layered palate right now dominated by honey, apricot, white flowers, and macadamia cookie. Big YUM! Finishes like you'd expect and has wonderful balance. 95 points for me and I'm glad to have 11 more of these to pop whenever I need a d'Yquem fix and don't want to feel guilty about the indulgence.
