NV R L Buller Muscat Calliope (WIML94+,WA99,WS94)

Tasted September 14, 2005 at an offline at a restaurant so brief comments only. Opened and served immediately in run of the house sweet wine glasses. Amber to dark amber color in the glass, slightly opaque. Nose of anise, nuts and molasses Buttered biscuits with sorghum on the palate with all kinds of secondary flavors such as coffee, honey, almonds and carmelize sugar. However, this wine didn’t seem cloying at all. Quite pleasurable to drink. Can be drank now or easily withstand another five years. Highly recommended.

WIML -

To be clear, does the '+' sign indicate that you believe it will improve in the next 5 years? If so, how do you th ink it will further develop?

Personally I like it on waffles. Just think about all those little squares full of a 100 point wine.

I have my doubts whether the '02 Quilceda will get a 100 pt rating. If it does, we're having Micky Waffles!

Remember that the Tokay is the 100 point one, not the Muscat.

Yep, the Tokay is 100 & this is 95. I have not had this one, but I had the Tokay. I don't know about 100, but it is a stellar & very very impressive that's for sure.

$50, Retail.

WA99, WS94

I am with WS on this one. And, I see that WIML & Winetex also gave it in the 94-95 range. I have to agree with WS & the both of them. That range sound good to me. A great bottle of wine. Also, kicka$$ wine with some dark chocolate. A perfect match!

Day #2: Excellent! A beautiful bottle of wine that refreshes & warms the palate @ the same time. It is not @ all cheap @ $50 or so per. But, in my opinion, well worth it.
