1998 Columbia Crest Semillon Columbia Valley Ice Wine Reserve

Found this in the clearance bin at a local liquor store for $11.99 (originally released from the winery at $28.00). Light golden color. Light nose similar to Tokay with apricot and some orange marmalade on the finish. Very viscuous mouthfeel that is almost like syrup. Flavors of honey and fig. 90 points. Drink now.

You forced me to jump ahead in my notes! Tasted at the winery on july 27:

24.3% residual sugar. Floral nose of figs. Rich flavors of figs, dates, candied fruits. Beautifully balanced. 92

Note: I consider a wine to be syrupy if it's sweet and lacking in acidity, the way may Canadian and NE US Vidals seem to be. I thought this wine had the acidity to balance the sugar.

WIML90,NOWA,NOWS

Tasted August 18, 2006 at home. Almost identical to the last bottle, only the color was a bit darker this time. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Sweet Wine glass. Golden color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of apricots and honeysuckle. Flavors of honey, almonds and some orange marmalade.. Flavors of honey and fig. Very viscuous mouthfeel. Drink now. (90 pts.)

Hmmm...I better double check the empty bottle when I get home. The original note was posted when I was doing everything from a spreadsheet. The latest was posted from CellarTracker! Maybe I keyed it into CT incorrectly? I'll double check.
