This was an excellent sweet wine from the Loire. Compliments of Frued, I think this retails for about $75 for a 500ml. Correct me if I'm wrong. I thought this wine was very reminiscent of a Muscat Baumes de Venise, but Freud told me that the difference between the 2 (other than the fact that the MBDV is a Rhone) is that Muscat BDV is fortified whereas this wine is not.

Pretty peaches (both white and cling) on the nose. More fruit cup, peach and pear on the palate. Very mouth coating and thick. Long finish. I loved it. jb Rating 93.

Edited to correct drunken errors in notetaking.

Baudin actually makes a couple different wines. The wine in question is the 1997 Marie Juby and sells for @ $75 for a .500ml.

Glad you liked it JB.

Boy, could I have got more of the info wrong about this wine? I'll try to edit the title to at least give people a chance of finding it. Can you tell it was the last wine of 8 wines that night? Thanks for the experience Freud and welcome to VinoCellar.com.

Have you had any 2000 M BdV and from which producer do you like best?

I've only had two so far. Dom. Coyeux and Dom Fenoillet. I preferred the Coyeux, but both were good. And both were under $15. The Fenoillet $13 for a 500ml.

The Loire represents one of the best values in world class, ageable dessert wines anywhere. I've got a 1989 Coteaux Du Layon VT just waiting for a special occasion. Cost: $11.00 from the producer.
