Seamless on the palate. Dark and rich with ripe plummy blackberry liqueur flavors, given some edge with pepper and licorice. Ample but integrated tannin. Long sappy finish with very little heat. Quite enjoyable now for a Port at this young age. Should be very nice for many years.

Bob, I believe this is the Port that bman served us when we visited him 8 months ago. He had decanted it hours in advance from a half bottle. It was clearly young, but wonderful in its youth.

I have some old Ports in my cellar that I'm not very tempted to open, but if I had a lot of the `94 Warre (which I don't) I'd have a hard time keeping my hands off of it. What a crowd pleaser.

I've been drinking/accumulating ports only for the last 3 years, and have had this twice. While I can't judge well the aging of ports yet, I found this to be very smooth and elegant. Can only imagine what another decade or two will bring!!

Completely agree here. I've had one 94 Warre and was really suprised how elegant it was showing for the age. I've one of these left and I've hidden it so well in my offsite I don't think I could find it if I wanted to right now, and trust me I want to.

Lucky I found this tasting note with the search function being hosed at the moment.

WIML93-94,WA94,WS95

Tasted March 31, 2007 at an offline at WineDrinkerofTexas’ home. Served blind from a 375ml bottling. Opened and decanted for sediment about an hour before serving in Riedel (Sommelier) Port glasses. Dark purple color in the glass, slightly opaque looking. Huge and youthful nose of dark berries, chocolate, kirsch and melted black licorice. Aromas carry through to the palate. Excellent acidity with still slightly firm tannins from the still very youthful wine. Definitely full bodied and quite pleasurable at that. Good overall balance. Even from 375ml I’d recommend holding this at least another 3-5 years before trying again. Considering this wine can still be purchased in 375ml format for $29.99 I’d say the value here is between recommended and highly recommended. Many thanks to WDoT for opening this bottle. NOTE: my blind guess was it is either the 1994 Fonseca or the 1994 Taylor. (93 pts.)
