Hi

Last week I've a little tasting of some vintage ports from the small Quinta da Romaneira.

The wines was tasted in this order

Quinta da Romaneira vintage port 1985
Price in DKK 300
Well this wine had a great smell (what a start) - The colour was more brown than red and bright. And the taste well it just fill out my mouth.

Quinta da Romaneira vintage port 1994
Price in DKK 275
This wine didn't have as great smell like the 85. The colour was a big different to the 85 must more red. The taste was indeed good but clearly needs more years in the bottle

Quinta da Romaneira vintage port 1997
Price in DKK 200
This was the wine that got the lowest rating of all the wines - not must taste in the mouth.

Quinta da Romaneira vintage port 2000
Price in DKK 300
Here we had a wine - wow it almost explode in the mouth - the colour was deep red and dark. And the taste didn't stop for a long time. 10 to 15 more years and "I'll be back".

and after a little break because of the long living taste from the 2000

Quinta da Romaneira Colheita 1967
Price in DKK 600
And as we says in Denmark "The raisin in the hot dog end". This colheita was as amber in the colour. Just pure and clean. And the taste well it's some of the best I've ever been tasting. A creamy and long taste.

A littel comment.
Which wine will I buy?
If I didn't have the 94 I'll buy that one and the 2000 to hide in my cellar for the next many years. And then I'll have some of the 85 just to drink and a few of the 67 to some specials days like me 40 years birthday. *S*
