| Tasted at Resurrection Cup I, 5/21/2005. Not tasted blind.
WOW. Did I say WOW? This was un-frickin' believable. Admittedly this was tasted very late in the evening, so the flavors may be off, but this was incredible. This had vanilla, cigar box, cherries, chocolates, and a huge, spicy nose and body. On the nose, I detected a lot of notes of cinnamon, and it was almost pepper-y, in that every time I held the glass to me nose, I wanted to sneeze!
I have never had a port that was this old, and this was incredible. Between this and the 85 Graham's, I see no need to invest in current vintages of VP. I will put some money into older vintages, in the hope of repeating an experience like this again in my lifetime, instead of having it peak during the lifetime of Blake's kids.
