I paid about $18.00 a bottle for this at the NH State Liquor Store. For the money I'm giving this an A for QPR. This isn't anything you want to hold onto much longer because it's not going to get much better. Lighter in body than I expected, good chocolate and black cherry notes. Big effusive nose which showed a little acohol but none on the pallate. Long finish. good stuff and I don't feel bad about vacu-vining the bottle and saving it for later.

Interesting that you think it won't go on much longer. I thought that it had a few years left whilst still changing in the bottle. Did you decant?

I didn't decant, although it would have helped but I didn't have the time nor the patients. It still had the alch. to go longer but it's definetly not a VP with decades left I'd drink in the next 1-2 otherwise I think it will be heading downhill.

Fair. The 1992 is still drinking beautifully but I got the impression that the 1994 wasn't quite as good. You're right though, it is not meant for long aging like VP, somewhere between normal LBV and single quinta.
