  Porto offline at Spazzo: Plummy colored, very little fading around edges. Big, warm nose of cherry jam. Lots of acid and alcohol, this is a BIG, very structured wine with a long lingering finish of chocolate covered fruit. Delicious. 95+

1985 Foncesca Port

Tasted February 19, 2005 at a DAWGS offline at Lavendou in Dallas, TX. Opened and decanted tableside about 2 hours before serving in Spiegelau Authentis RotWein glasses. Dark purple color in the glass. Nose of dark plum, currants and blackberries. Flavors of raisins, blackberries, chocolate and spice. A very youthful wine so holding is recommended.

I've had this twice over the past year and a half, both times giving it about a 93.5 and thinking it might get even better in a few years. Probably my favorite Port findable for under $100 for drinking now, despite the fact it is still improving.
