One of the wines I took to the DC Crü dinner at Brasserie Beck a couple of nights ago.

I really wish Mark and Gove were still making this wine, I'd buy it by the case. Crisp and powerful, not at all oaky, with notes of grapefruit and walnuts(?) that was truely spectacular.   Wonderful nose, and lovely golden color.  90 pts

When in doubt, open another bottle.

Fantastic wine! I don't really go for oaky chardonays and this wine had very little - if any oak and was still quite complex and layered. Nose was pure fresh cut grapefruit and it was very rich and fruity with some nutiness as well (no hint of grapfruit in the mouth - more golden nectar like...). Really a first rate effort - falling somewhere between a chablis - with its crispness and purity and a Cali Chardonay - with its complexity. I not normally a big fan of chardonays but this wine was awesome! Thanks D.
