Bought at the local HEB grocery store for about $12/750ml bottle.

Alc. 13.5%

Back label reads: Our Viognier is hand picked from select vineyards, in small lots. We age in classic oak barrels to give you a rich Rhone style wine. http://www.renwood.com

Lilac sez: What a nice quaffable for a hot day. I've had this in my Vinotemp for a while and decided it was getting hot enough (90-F +) for a nice chilled white.

When I uncorked it I detected a very nice honey, fruit aroma. The first swallow and WOW! The nose was crammed with pineapple and tropical fruits. The first taste was honey and quince behind the tropical fruit, with a barely detectable vanilla background. The finish was short, but very pleasant.

This paired nicely with the mild chicken curry, balmati rice, and brussels sprouts I prepared (balsamic vinegar and chestnuts in the sprouts - yummm).

WS rated: 85. I can't disagree and rate it a "Buy Several Bottles Again". Very good QPR.

Lilac, must have been the influence of that BALsamic vinegar.

I hope you're right, budmeister. Otherwise senility has made a strong foothold in my brain. Not that anyone would notice...

What a coincidence. I had this exact same wine Wednesday night at "The Vine" in South Bend, IN. Had it with a Caesar Salad, "lightly" coated with a balsamic vinigarette dressing with red pepper marinated chicken. Nice little wine for a salad on a warm evening out on the patio.
Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone.
